Since 1980, Expert Pest Management has been a family-owned leader in quality pest control. The company began when the owners made a move from New Jersey to Ohio, and in the 40 years since it has expanded into Western Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia. Today the Boardman branch sits at 135 Marwood Circle to service the greater Boardman area, and the company also has numerous branches throughout Northern Ohio.

It specializes in the commercial and residential extermination of ants, spiders, termites, bed bugs, cockroaches, bees, wasps, hornets, ladybugs, fleas, and ticks. Removal of wildlife such as mice, squirrels, rats, chipmunks, and bats is also available, with one time, monthly, and quarterly programs that cover the multiple treatment requirements.

Expert Pest’s unique claim to fame is its focus on individual programs aimed at fully eradicating one particular type of pest infestation. This makes it a stand out choice if you regularly deal with just one or two types of infestations that need diligent targeting.

The Boardman location has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau. Customer reviews are mixed, with the majority of people saying that the office staff and technicians are courteous, knowledgeable, on-time, and do a good job with treating the issue. Most positive comments are regarding ants, spiders, and yellow jackets, with a few mentioning great service in treating wildlife invasions.

There are a number of customers who have used the service at multiple locations over several years, and continue to be happy with the results. However, there are also a fair number of recurring issues with this company.

Technician training, accurate quotes, follow-up visits, and quality of service can be hit or miss, so be sure to read the fine print of any contract, request to pay on site after an inspection rather than over the phone, and be prepared to ask for a seasoned technician.
