- Keep the power running as you move to the next room. When vacuums are turned off it becomes possible for fleas to get out the same way they came in, so if you have to turn it off and move the plug, do it as quickly as possible. Don’t waste any time.
- Vacuum the part of the hallway just outside each room as you finish each room. Once you’ve completed the clean up in each room along a particular hallway, go back and vacuum the entire hallway.
- Make sure you get all the different floors in the house; hardwood, bare floors, tile, vinyl, carpet, rugs, and concrete. There are cracks and crevices, nooks and crannies in all of them that fleas can exploit as hiding places or somewhere to lay eggs. Don’t skip anything.
